patience“Patience is power.
Patience is not an absence of action;
rather it is “timing”
it waits on the right
time to act, for the right principles and in the
right way.”
~ Fulton J. Sheen

The Lightbulb

I never knew how much I lacked patience. It had to be pointed out to me by trusted friends as I got older. Let’s face it, I still lack patience in many respects – I’m only human. Raised in the age of microwaves and cable television, everything is instant. Fast food and fast entertainment. Imagine what being raised with the Internet is like. Wow, lost of quick stuff. Is this good or bad? Time will tell. We live in a world that changes rapidly. Everyone seems to not only want things fast, but we feel entitled to it. This can be a breeding ground for disappointment.

I remember venting my frustrations of not having this and that to a friend and he asked me, “who has these things you want?” I started rattling off the names of people who had the car, job, house, etc. My friend pointed out all these people were at least ten years older than me. Ah clarity. This memory has helped me practice patience. I bet building Matchu Pitchu took some patience.

Are you impatient?
